You forgot Central Banks.

Uncle Greenspan had a hand in the current crisis. He was instrumental in creating the housing bubble, which through its derivatives and nutty Bush are largely responsible for the elimination of our surplus under Clinton. Think Fannie and Freddie.

The Clinton surplus is a myth. He paid down the Public debt by writing a check to himself from Intragovernmental holdings. Public debt and Itragovernmental holdings comprise the National debt. To say that the Public debt was reduced is accurate, but the story is incomplete. Public debt went down by less than what Intragovernmental holding went up and the national debt increased.

Thanks for that link! I hope everyone is protecting themselves against the upcoming devaluation of our dollar...today's price of gold is going to look real cheap in a few years...but meanwhile people are more concerned with getting high or the temps going up .3 degrees.

"It’s simple math: we can burn 565 more gigatons of carbon dioxide and stay below 2°C of warming — anything more than that risks catastrophe for life on earth. The only problem? Fossil fuel corporations now have 2,795 gigatons in their reserves, five times the safe amount. And they’re planning to burn it all — unless we rise up to stop them." -- Bill McKibben

This November, Bill McKibben and 350.org are hitting the road to build the movement that will change the terrifying math of the climate crisis.

I just did the math for Bill McKibben.

2795 gigatons of CO2 are going to be burned.
7 billion people alive today are going to burn it during their 70-year lifespan
798571 pounds of CO2 will be burned per person over a 25550-day lifetime
31¼ pounds of CO2 burned per day, per person, per lifetime is what that works out to be

By McKibben says, "We can burn 565 more gigatons of carbon dioxide and stay below 2°C of warming." This five times less then the math above.

6¼ pounds of CO2 burned per day, per person, per lifetime is what the safe amount works out to be, staying below 2°C of warming.

What I want to know is then, how many grams of CO2 get burned in my bong each day? How many bong hits can I do per day and stay within my limits?

LMAO. Be green, and environmentally friendly by using a vaporizer! Gets the job done better, and easier on the lungs too :-)

Climate Change Report Outlines Perils for U.S. Military

WASHINGTON, Nov 9, 2012 — Climate change is accelerating, and it will place unparalleled strains on American military and intelligence agencies in coming years by causing ever more disruptive events around the globe, America’s top scientific research group said in a report issued on Nov 9, 2012. The study was released 10 days late. Its authors had been scheduled to brief intelligence officials on their findings the day Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast, but the federal government was shut down because of the storm.

The National Research Council says in a study commissioned by the C.I.A. and other intelligence agencies that clusters of apparently unrelated events exacerbated by a warming climate will create more frequent but unpredictable crises in water supplies, food markets, energy supply chains and public health systems.

Hurricane Sandy provided a foretaste of what can be expected more often in the near future, the report’s lead author, John D. Steinbruner, said in an interview.

“This is the sort of thing we were talking about,” said Mr. Steinbruner, a longtime authority on national security. “You can debate the specific contribution of global warming to that storm. But we’re saying climate extremes are going to be more frequent, and this was an example of what they could mean. We’re also saying it could get a whole lot worse than that.”

Don't you guys believe Climate Change and Global Warming have been exacerbated by burning man-made fossil fuels? How many Trillions of Dollars is this shit going to cost taxpayers for FEMA assistance in the very near future? Maybe NY and NJ victims of Sandy deserve nothing from taxpayers? Are you willing to take such a position and give them nothing? Global Warming looks like this.

How's all that Gas Rationing in New York and New Jersey working out?

I believe in science. The Greenhouse Effect and the warming it causes is a scientific fact. What, exactly, is happening to the Earth's atmosphere and her oceans with all that man-made CO2 isn't "exactly clear" to us. Climate Change problems are further complicated by methane emissions and by ozone-layer-depleting chemicals we've emitted.

I'm trying to wrap my feeble head around Craig Steiner's postulation on his Global Warming denialism that you referred to in Mando's link. Do you guys truly buy into this guy's rap about how "global warming was killed by arguments used by liberals against Intelligent Design." I have never heard about this sheeple-poop rap before 'just now'. Please forgive me since I'm an overdosed village idiot, and I don't get out much!

"Welcome to the world of Intelligent Design, Mr. Hansen," says Craig Steiner. [Dr. James Hansen heads the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies]

"Intelligent Design is a theory that competes with evolution. It states that many aspects of what we see in the species are too rare to be the result of anything other than a deliberate intelligent design. In other words, it wasn’t random mutations that evolved the species but a guiding hand implementing a purposeful intelligent design. While the theory doesn’t purport to define the “intelligence” that guided the changes to the species (could be God, could be aliens, as far as the theory is concerned), the implications are obvious.

While supporters of Intelligent Design have made many scientific arguments in favor of the theory, those arguments have been faced with objection from the more traditional “scientific community.” That's healthy. Science is supposed to be about proposing theories and then others trying to tear it down. So for every argument an Intelligent Design supporter offers, an evolutionist will offer a counter-argument." -- stated by Craig Steiner on Aug 5, 2012.
It's only sheeple-pooping fair, if you're gonna be taking the Global Warming debate to Jesus, let's get a Methodist Sunday school teacher into this conversation. I would love to see and hear a debate between Bill McKibben and Craig Steiner.

Bill McKibben is the author of a dozen books about the environment, beginning with The End of Nature in 1989, which is regarded as the first book for a general audience on climate change. He is a founder of the grassroots climate campaign 350.org, which has coordinated 15,000 rallies in 189 countries since 2009. Time Magazine called him 'the planet's best green journalist' and the Boston Globe said in 2010 that he was 'probably the country's most important environmentalist.' Schumann Distinguished Scholar at Middlebury College, he holds honorary degrees from a dozen colleges, including the Universities of Massachusetts and Maine, the State University of New York, and Whittier and Colgate Colleges. In 2011 he was elected a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

"Rick Perry’s response to the drought so far [in Texas] has been to have a statewide day of prayer. Now, I’m a Methodist Sunday school teacher, so I’m completely down with prayer. That’s good. But in most theologies, prayer works a little better if you aren’t at the same time trying to think of every policy you can do to make matters worse. It’s astonishing that someone is able to make George Bush look relatively smart about scientific things. The Governor is completely wrong, of course, about the science. It’s not only strong, it grows stronger with every passing heat wave and every year of record temperature. There’s no scientific doubt." -- stated by Bill McKibben on Aug 23, 2011
I am not a scientist, nor a politician, nor am I a preacher. But I did publish an exposé about Climate Change and Global Warming. It's all based upon science and journalism. Everything I put together is simple and easy to understand. I put my exposé on The Archive, here:
